Seattle Asperger's Support Summer Day Camp The fabulous SAS Summer Day Camp is returning for 2012! SAS Day Camp runs during July Monday through Thursday for the last three weeks of July. Every week has a theme and includes a field trip to the Science Center. In addition to theme activities, there are lots of games, simple nature and science activities and arts and crafts. The goal is to provide a fun summer day camp atmosphere with social thinking concepts like "expected" and "unexpected" behaviors, size of the problem, emotional regulation using a five point scale, and flexible thinking woven in. There is also a very strong emphasis on communication skills using "thinking with your eyes", listening to what someone said, thinking about what they said , and responding. This year we are doing some division of ages to enhance the camp experience for participants. You may sign up for one or two weeks if your child is age appropriate. Hours are 9 am to 2pm Monday-Thursday. There is no day camp on Fridays. Cost is $475.00 per week with a $150 registration fee which covers all materials and the field trip. Partial scholarships are available. Call 206-227-6294 or e-mail seattleaspergerssupport@gmail.com to set up a registration appointment. Camp is limited to 8 children, and spaces will fill quickly so act soon!
